Set yourself up for success during Mars retrograde and beyond
Mars is in Leo! And also– retrograde alert!
The upcoming Mars transits are great for sooo many reasons.
Get ready to be your own hero, lead with pride and up-level your confidence so you can get clear on any decisions you need to make AND get some forward momentum on any tasks, projects or goals you’re working on.
Mars entered Leo on November 3 at 11:10pm Eastern Time and will be direct in Leo until December 6 when they go retrograde and start backtracking over the recently traversed area of Leo. Then, on January 6, 2025, Mars will continue to travel backwards into Cancer! Mars will be retrograde in Cancer until February 23, 2025.
So why is this all so important to know?
I always look at retrogrades as an opportunity for learning, rest, reflection and sometimes even catching up on some things. Retrogrades slow us down and gift us the time we need to give anything that’s going on in our lives extra consideration.
Anything you work on, create, plan, or take action on in the next month (especially in the area of your birth chart you have Leo in) is going to be immediately brought up for review starting in January.
This is great information to have because if you’re trying something new or making tweaks to how you approach or complete tasks and projects, you’ll have time to gather information and have opinions and thoughts about how it’s going right before the retrograde.
With that in mind, I wouldn’t make any mega changes during this time. For example, if you have Leo in your first house of style or fifth house of self-expression, maybe don’t get that new haircut right now?
Since you’re feeling really motivated, I would take note of what types of improvements and progress you’re being inspired to make. You could start making decisions around them and taking action, but you could also hang back and observe what’s really motivating you and what you really want and need.
The Leo and Cancer areas of your birth chart are going to be needing extra TLC and attention, and while we all love a little go, go, go energy from Mars, I invite you to slow down and spend more time in reflection about these areas of your life rather than getting swept away with Mars being direct in Leo the next four weeks.
Think of this time as an inspired slowing down to review rather than an intense rev up and then review (or regret).
Let’s get started on retrograde review:
Think about the topics and themes you have in the Cancer and Leo areas of your birth chart and reflect on the following questions. You can download a copy of my zodiac sign and house reference here.
What has been going really well in the Cancer and Leo areas of your birth chart?
What has been challenging or not going well in the Cancer and Leo areas of your birth chart?
What kind of changes has your intuition been guiding you to make? And how does that make you feel? Do you feel resistant to make any tweaks or changes? If so, why?
If you could come out of this retrograde more prepared and confident, what would you be ready to confidently do when Mars is direct in Leo again on April 18, 2025?
There are some other really important reasons why you should consider giving yourself the time and space you need to make the most of this retrograde, and that’s because it will help you navigate the next eclipse season!
Mars will be in Cancer square the solar eclipse in Aries on March 29, 2025. Mars is the ruler of this new moon and is in their fall in Cancer (which means they really struggle there). While the North Node will be in Pisces for this eclipse, Venus, Neptune and Mercury will all be in Aries with the Sun and Moon. So yeah, it’s going to be intense.
Thinking it might be a good time to get a little cozy and comfortable with Mars? Me too.
