The solar eclipse in Libra is helping you reflect, release and craft a new chapter in your life

Get ready for major shifts! On October 2, we’ll experience a powerful solar eclipse at 10 degrees Libra, right by the South Node at 6 degrees Libra.

This new moon will support your visions and dreams for a new reality only after you have allowed it to help you close doors, welcome endings, and release and let go of what no longer serves you. It’s a clarifying and cleansing period of time. And you’re likely already experiencing the energy of it.

We started the Aries-Libra eclipse axis story back in October 2023. What was going on for you during that time? Were you starting to experience changes or shifts in your perspective or priorities?

Fast forward to now: How has that story line ebbed, flowed and evolved over the past 12 months?

With this eclipse, the Libra part of your chart will feel the call to let go of habits, relationships, and thought patterns that no longer feel aligned with the life you are creating. It could also mean releasing physical items such as clutter and belongings that you’ve outgrown or no longer use. You may experience a shift in focus or priorities.

This new moon is also being influenced by Mars and Jupiter. The moon in Libra is square Mars in Cancer and trine Jupiter in Gemini.

With the moon square Mars, you’ll likely be experiencing some discomfort and fluctuating emotions. The trine to Jupiter may be intensifying mental chatter through self-talk and creating mental stimulation around the already disruptive feelings you're experiencing.

You may find it helpful to write thoughts down to get them out of your head or chat about them with others. If you’re feeling heated or agitated, communicate with the folks that will listen without judgment so you can gain clarity and figure out what is most important to you.

It’s possible that you find yourself in an actual negotiation or discussion about what’s important to you and what you need.

If that isn’t challenging enough, the ruler of this new moon is Venus in Scorpio. Venus in Scorpio is an intense, deep and questioning Venus. Venus will support you to be strategic and inquisitive as you get clear on the motivations behind your relationships. You can read more about Venus in Scorpio here.

Everything in your life is going through a cosmic sifter so that you can continue to become the best version of yourself and be in alignment for your highest good.

This is the last South Node eclipse in Libra for the next 18 years, so think of it as a cosmic closing chapter.

It’s the perfect time to reflect on what hasn’t been going well in your life in the past year, whether it’s been frustrating, challenging or not going as you had hoped.

Check the area of your birth chart where you have Libra. What are the topics and themes of that house? Get my house resource here.

The Libra area of your chart reflects the topics and themes that are being activated for you during this solar eclipse. It will be helpful for you to take some time this week to reflect on what’s been coming up for you. Be honest with yourself. And I understand that what comes up may sting. Do the best you can to be with it without judging yourself or others.

While the South Node is all about release, letting go and dispersing, it is also a point of spirituality and mysticism. If you are somebody that has a spiritual or mystical practice, you may find it extra supportive to lean into that right now as you navigate the shifts and changes from the eclipse.

It’s time to make room for the new. But what do you need to let go of first?

It may not be easy, but the clarity and peace that follow will be well worth it.
